The exhibition, which is an official event accompanying the Czech Presidency of the Council of European Union, is held under the auspices of Alexandr Vondra, the Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs and Pavel Bém, the Mayor of Prague.
The In Morbid Colours: Art and the Idea of Decadence in the Bohemian Lands, 1880—1914 exhibition was held in the Prague Municipal House from 15 November 2006 until 18 February 2007 and presented, for the first time, a specific part of the Czech visual arts scene influenced by the idea of decadence in the period between 1880 and 1914.
The subsequent exhibitions in the Hôtel de Ville, Bruxelles and the Musée Félicien Rops, Namur entitled Decadence. Bohemian Lands 1880—1914, continue to reflect the peculiar phenomenon of decadence in Czech visual arts, this time tailored for the foreign audience.
